Civilian Career
College and Work Experience
If someone had asked me before if I ever thought I would go to college, I'd have laughed. Yet it was an important and smart decision. After moving down to South Carolina, I decided to pursue a bachelor's in Information Science and Technology
The University of South Carolina - Beaufort accepted me and it has been an experience very different from anything else I have been a part of. I currently hold a GPA of 3.6, and through their training I have developed an understanding of the following items:
- MATLAB
- Java
- SQL
- SSMS
- Amazon Web Service
- Micrsoft Azure
- Ubuntu
- Github/Bitbucket
- Lucidchart
- Eclipse for Java EE
- Model View Control
- Heroku
- Scrum
- Agile Software DEvlopment
- Junit
- Docker
- HTML and CSS
- Javascript
Along the way I have had the privelage of working for a company called Ecos Consulting LLC. Orginally hired as a consultant to help with data analysis and tactial explanation (helping people understand just what they were looking at), I also interned with them as a junior data analyst. Under their mentorship I now have abetter understanding of software like Perl and Tableau. I also honed my skills in scripting which includes batch scripting. An expedient and efficient way to run our programs quicker and output our data faster. I have been working part time for them since March 2021
